DesignBuilder is a state-of-the-art SBEM and DSM tool which simplifies the process of building simulation, allowing assessors to rapidly build models and compare energy, carbon, lighting and comfort performance. DesignBuilder users report that they can slash their average modelling time by at least half compared to free software tools like iSBEM. The bigger and more complex the building, the greater the time-saving. QA-checking of the energy model is also much easier, reducing the risk of mistakes leading to audit failure.
Although the payback time on a DesignBuilder software licence is generally very short due to the modelling efficiency savings, it is appreciated that the cost of commercial software can be a hurdle to NDEAs facing increasingly tight margins. To overcome that barrier, DesignBuilder has a flexible pay-as-you-go system so you don’t have to commit to a full licence until the time is right for you. Who should attend?
This Workshop is for Assessors with little or no prior experience of DesignBuilder. We will introduce you to the most important aspects of modelling in DesignBuilder so you experience for yourself how much time you could save on each model.
Assessors should bring their own laptop if they want to follow the trainer, or if preferred could simply watch and listen to get a sense of the potential benefits.
